Here I am (bottom right) with my 4-man team sat against the Zulu Company 45 Commando Royal Marines shield in Iraq in 1991. Operation Safe Haven was an operation to assist and give relief to the Peshmerga Rebels who were fighting the might of Saddam Hussain’s army. A real catalyst for learning here where actions of both the enemy and friendly forces instigated a deeper thought process regarding performance and the psychology that sits with it. I link much of my learning during this period to ‘Resilience’ and ‘Mindset’ training, a trait that is a golden thread throughout my military and civilian career.
